Projects

Kerry Thompson has been involved in a number of projects in many areas including software development for facilities management, GIS applications, parametric CAD systems and 3D Modelling.

3D Modelling

  • KTA undertook the development of 3D computer modelling of town planning changes to show the impact of the changes on the existing urban environment. The scope of the work included matching to photographs of the existing urban sites and showing "before and after" impacts of the possible built forms that may result from the proposed changes.
  • Kerry Thompson has been involved in a number of 3D computer modelling projects including the illustrating proposals for land redevelopment, port redevelopments and establishing industrial processing facilities.

CAD and BIM Support

  • KTA provides ongoing consulting and support in the area of AutoCAD applications and system development. The work involves the development and maintenance of the nationally used CAD customisation system and the development and implementation of standards for AutoCAD and Revit.
  • KTA has undertaken a number of domestic and commercial projects using Autodesk Architectural Desktop.

Furniture

  • KTA was the lead consultant in the development of a furniture based modelling and sales system. This project included furniture design, CAD modelling in ArchiCAD and AutoCAD and implementation of Internet technologies including Flash and Cult 3D.

Architectural Practices

KTA provides services to a number of architectural and design practices in the following areas:

  • Review of existing applications of AutoCAD technology including staff reviews and the development of a strategy to upgrade to the latest releases of AutoCAD with associated customisation.
  • The development and implementation of project CAD standards along with providing a drawing management system.
  • Delivery of training courses assisting in the implementation of CAD software and Revit.

Internet

  • Development of project web sites for providing information to participants in collaborative architectural projects.
